If you haven’t heard, DIBS (Demon in a Blue Suit) is our DePaul mascot. You’re probably wondering why our mascot at a Catholic school is a giant blue demon. Well, look that up at on your own time, as the point of this post is to tell you where to find him, not why he exists. Fair warning that finding him will not be an easy task as he’s an elusive little dude. Nonetheless, a photo with him will make your Instagram fam super jealous, so check out our tips on where he might be…
- Basketball Games
This one should be self-explanatory. Leave your dorm, paint your face and go wait outside Wintrust until you see, off in the distance, DIBS arriving on a magic blue carpet (latter part not guaranteed).
- Welcome Week
There’s no better way to start the year than by getting that fresh Instagram pic with DIBS. Good thing welcome week is over for this year and you missed him *slow clap*
Demonthon is one of DePaul’s biggest yearly events. A 24-hour dance marathon raises money for Laurie’s Children Hospital; Demonthon draws hundreds of students every year. So really, all you have to do is stay awake for 24 hours for guaranteed social media fame. Worth it.
- Blue Demon Week
Towards the end of winter quarter, you’ll hear rumblings of Blue Demon Week. It’s a weeklong event spectacular with you guessed it, DIBS. Much pride, much DePaul.
- In Our Hearts
Yeah, kind of cheesy final answer but we all know it’s true. If you love DePaul, then a little fraction of your heart will be dedicated to DIBS every single day. What a guy, he truly is the hero DePaul deserves.
